Summary: After the Saja Boys are defeated, Zoey and Mira find Rumi practicing her Dark Voice.
Zoey and Mira were happily eating when they heard a voice singing.
“What is that voice?” asks Zoey.
“It sounds demonic,” says Mira. “A new demon?”
Zoey and Mira materialize their weapons. They follow the source of the voice and stop in front of Rumi's room.
“Rumi!” Zoey whispers. “She might be in danger.”
Mira kicked the door open. In Rumi's room, Rumi is singing. Her Patterns glow in the dark. Her voice is different. Darker, more seductive.
“Rumi?” Mira asks. “What's happened to you?”
Rumi stops singing. She turns to Mira and Zoey. Her eyes are filled with terror.
“I-it's, it’s not what you think! I'm not a demon!”
“We know that, Rumi,” said Zoey. “But your voice...”
“That's my Dark Voice. I was practicing with it.”
“Dark Voice?” asked Mira. “What do you mean by that?”
“Ever since the Saja Boys were defeated, ever since I showed my Patterns to the whole world, this second voice appeared. You could say it's my demonic voice but I'm not a demon!”
“Did you tell Celine or Bobby?” Zoey asks.
“No! Celine would tell me to hide it. To use only my ‘real’ voice, my Light Voice. As for Bobby, I don’t want to complicate his life.”
Zoey and Mira laugh.
“The whole world doubts that we've been real demon hunters since Gwi-Ma appeared and you think you're going to make Bobby's life complicated?” says Zoey.
That's true. Celine tried to censor the media by saying that Gwi-Ma was just a very realistic hologram and that the Saja Boys are missing but fans aren't fooled.
“Even if you don't like it, it's better to tell them,” says Mira.
Rumi sighs in discouragement.
“You're probably right,” she said to Mira. “I'll tell them.”
Zoey hugs her to give her courage. Mira joins in the embrace. Rumi smiles. Zoey and Mira are always there for her, no matter what happens.
